Our Aircraft The Tasmanian Aero Club operate a range of light aircraft. Jabiru 4544 and 4681 The Jabiru aircraft are excellent training aircraft and 4544 (pictured below) is one of two we own and use for training. The Jabiru can sometimes be a bit of a challenge to fly and is an excellent training aircraft. Our Jabiru are also available for private hire. Photo below courtesy Martin Eadie.
Jabiru 160 24-4681 is our other training Jabiru also available for private hire Cessna 172 VH-TNM The Cessna 172 is one of the worlds classic aircraft. More Cessna 172's have been built than any other civilian aircraft and there are more flying worldwide today than any other type. Our 172 is a 2004 model. we use it for flying training, charter and scenic flights. It is also available for private hire.
American Champion "Scout" VH-CFX The American Champion Scout is a modern classic. Formerly built by Bellanca, the Scout has a heritage dating back to 1948. Ours is a 2000 model and we use it for tail wheel endorsements. occasionally it is equiped with Alaskan Tundra Tyres (as photographed below) This aircraft is not available for private hire, sorry no exceptions.
Cessna 172 VH-MKQ MKQ is an oldie but a goodie. On the scene in Tasmania for over 20 years, MKQ is an "N" model we use for flying training and private hire. MKQ represents good value hire. Current hire and training fees are here: Latest rates and charges sheet
